Decision was made. But how could we do that?
We are from Istanbul, Turkey, a grand metropolitan city. It is like a bridge between Asia and Europe, which always leaves one between two choices. To start eastbound or westbound.
After some tens of minutes of discussion we decided to start from Europe, in other words westbound. This was to simply the equation of unknowns. Europe would provide us a much more safer and closer location to Turkey in terms of logistics. Plus, it would be a great location to return in any mishap.
Second concern we had was the seasons. We needed to have such a plan that provides the best climate for riding. So jumping from north to south hemisphere made a lot of sense in terms of climate.
Last but most decisive thing was of course the budget. We sold our lovely motorcycles and car to create the whole budget of the trip.
At the end the plan was clear, it shouldn’t last no more than 18 months, had to start from Europe and jumping to South America.
